There are events, activities and a whole host of other special celebrations taking place across the Jubilee weekend to commemorate the Queen and her reign. All across the country there are parades and processions leading up to the lighting of the beacons, which will take place on Thursday evening and street parties galore throughout our communities.

Here are some of the events you can enjoy over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend.

One of the things we love about Britain is an afternoon tea, so it’s no wonder so many people are combining the afternoon tea with the jubilee, like they are at this event at Bovey Castle in Devon. Similarly, there is a Jubilee Afternoon Tea taking place at the Abbey Hotel in Bath, Somerset. Nearby in Bristol, there is a brunch with a difference with God Save the Queens, Jubilee Drag Brunch – hosted by Bristol Pride, you can celebrate the queen with a variety of queens.

For an old fashioned knees up, there is a 1950s style street party taking place in Torquay, Devon. Find out more here. Also in Torquay at Kents Cavern, one of the region’s most popular attract ions is the chance to enjoy some stone age Jubilee themed fun. Another of Devon’s popular family attractions is Bear Town, where there is a Jubilee Celebration taking place perfect for the kids. Exeter high street will also be hosting their own jubilee event with a special street party, details here.

It’s something you can do in Surrey – they have carriage rides taking place through Windsor Great Park. Elsewhere in Surrey there is the chance to celebrate the jubilee with a gem workshop at Bourne Hall Museum. This workshop gives the kids the chance to learn about gem stones and create their own crown jewels. Find out more here.

In Buckinghamshire, join in a royal tea party here. If you’re in London, why not show off your best royal costumes with a Jubilee Fancy Dress contest? Head to Croydon to join in.

The children can get involved in Cheshire at Cholmondeley Castle with their Children’s Jubilee Tea Party. There is another royal tea party perfect for the whole family taking place in Chester too, find out more here. One of the things we love about the Queen is her fondness for corgis, while you’re in Cheshire, you can take part in Altrincham’s Trooping the Corgis event where you can try to locate fifty corgis. Meanwhile, in Liverpool, there is a concert featuring songs from the last seventy years, see more here.
