In Events

The end of the year and the end of the decade are almost upon us so naturally, many of you will be thinking about getting your gladrags on and welcoming in the roaring twenties in style. There are loads of events taking place all over the country this New Year, which can be a little overwhelming, so we’ve picked a few out for you to consider.

There are events to suit every style going on this year, from the grand to the small to the just plain weird, so whatever you’re into, you’ll find a celebration to suit you.

First off, let’s get the big ones out of the way. London has a whole host of events taking place this New Year – if you’re feeling a bit miffed about not being in Time Square this New Year, make sure to head to Battersea where they will be transforming Battersea Park into Times Square just for the event. Or of course you could settle yourself into one of the many Sky Bars that are around the capital to watch the fireworks. Alternatively, why not immerse yourself in the twenty-twenties by attending a secret twenties style event complete with dressing up? The location is secret until the event, so make sure to sign up here.

That isn’t the only twenties themed event that is taking place, Cheltenham’s Cosy Club is holding their own New Year’s Eve shindig celebrating the era of flappers – click here. Portsmouth is jumping on the twenties nostalgia train too, The Return of the Roaring 20s party has optional fancy dress but the rest of the night remains on theme. Rockabilly is the thing at Annie’s New Year’s Eve Party in Nottingham – it’s a party in a burger place – genius! Fancy dress is also the order of the day in Weymouth for their annual event, which is one of the UK’s largest New Year’s Eve parties, find out more here.

If the thought of fancy dress puts you off, take a look at one of these more traditional firework events, this one at Longleat in Wiltshire will allow you to ring in 2020 in style.

If you’re in the mood for something upmarket and a little bit special to see in the new decade, why not head to a gala event? These black tie events typically have casinos, entertainment and three course meals included, find out about this one in County Durham.

For a family friendly event, book tickets to the New Year’s Eve Party at Wookey Hole Caves. As well as all the usual you would expect, the package includes kids entertainment, crazy golf a tour of the caves and more! Plus, the idea of celebrating the end of the decade in a cave is pretty cool.
