According to research by actual scientists, spending the weekend at a festival could actually be really good for your health and if that’s not a good enough excuse to book a ticket and get a bag packed, then what is?

The research, which is based on a report by Withings, a tech company, which was published a couple of years ago and is once again doing the rounds, looks at the number of calories burnt during typical festival activities. Of course, we all know, whether you are a seasoned festival goer or not, that spending several days in a field camping, dancing, eating fast food and drinking things that aren’t all that good for you, will result in you feeling tired and a bit ill. Sometimes a good bath will sort you out, other times you need a week’s bedrest but Withings’ report would indicate that despite all of that, you’re likely to burn around 500 calories per act you see.

That’s a huge amount!

Apparently, the average festival goer can burn over 9,000 calories over a three day event and clock up to fifteen miles! So, if you were thinking you might give it a rest from going to festivals this year, consider the health benefits of going along!

The report showed that those going to Glastonbury burnt on average 3,400 calories per day, while those at Reading burnt 3,000 and Bestival goers burnt 2,600 calories.

So, there you go, festivals are good for you which is all the reasoning you need to go to as many as possible. Be sure to take a look at our range of music events and get your dance on.
