From Mon 28 Oct to Fri 1 Nov Creswell Crags' resident good witch, Mother Grundy, will welcome children in her cave to take part in fun, magical activities and storytelling.
There are different activities all week. Time slots last an hour from meeting Mother Grundy at the Visitor Centre to leaving the cave. It is £5 per child to cover resources, but adults or siblings who are not taking part in the activity do not need to pay. Booking in advance is recommended, though there might be slots available on the day.
On Thursday 31st (Halloween) there is the first ever Creswell Crags Halloween Party, aimed at under-10s. Tickets for the party are £5 per child, with games around the site, a costume competition, and a party bag for every child. On this day, Mother Grundy will be hosting drop in Magic Wand making in her cave, with no additional charge (donations gratefully received).

Mon 28 - Witch Bottles and Mummified Cats: Find out the weird and wonderful ways people had for protecting themselves against dark forces. Hunt around the cave for a remedy, make a Witch Bottle to take away and listen to a story about Mother Grundy.
Tue 29 - Creatures of the Night: Learn more about amazing creatures of the night and make a felt owl or bat, using wet-felting method, to take home.
Wed 30 - Witch Bottles and Mummified Cats: Find out the weird and wonderful ways people had for protecting themselves against dark forces. Hunt around the cave for a remedy, make a Witch Bottle to take away and listen to a story about Mother Grundy.
Thu 31 - Wand Making. This session is drop in, no need to book in advance. Decorate a wooden wand with drawings and ribbons, to take home. No charge for this activity, but please do book in advance for the Crags Halloween Party on the same day (£5 per child).
Fri 1 - Creatures of the Night: Learn more about amazing creatures of the night and make a felt owl or bat, using wet-felting method, to take home. Woodie's Wings owls will also be at the Crags today, so take some time to meet an owl - access to the owls is free of charge.
