Winter Wreath Workshop

About

Celebrate the seasons: making winter decorations with natural materials with Anna Corbett. There's a long tradition of bringing greenery into our houses to celebrate winter at the darkest time of the year. In this workshop you will make a decorative wreath using natural materials gathered from the woods, gardens and hedgerows.

Anna is a gardener by background and an artist by inclination. She loves mucking about with all sorts of materials, creating things to mark and celebrate the seasons and the natural world.

At this time of year, favourite materials are willow, rushes and grasses, combined with berries, leaves and seed heads. Seashells, stones and feathers may also put in an appearance. Using willow as a base, we will use leaves, berries, cones and anything else you like the look of! Bring your own decorations to add, either natural or otherwise.

Tools and materials provided but bring your own secateurs and scissors if you can.

This event is part of the Coast Care Partnership project. Coast Care is a new initiative created to train, support and resource volunteers to contribute to the management and conservation of the Northumberland coastline from Berwick to Amble.

The partnership is delivered by the Northumberland Wildlife Trust, the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Seahouses Development Trust.

The project is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund until April 2020.
