Windows of Youth Creativity: We Made It!, launching on 22 October, will see artwork from young people across Manchester take over 10 large windows and spaces on and inside iconic, prominent venues in Manchester this autumn, including HOME, Central Library, Proud Trust, National Football Museum, 11 York Street, Horsfall Gallery, Royal Exchange Theatre, Town Hall Annex, Science and Industry Museum and Manchester's brand-new Mayfield Park.
Part of Our Year 2022, the Manchester City Council commissioned project will showcase creative disciplines such as photography, illustration, dance, sculpture, street art, mosaic, poetry and model making.
The trail will include giant robots at the Science and Industry Museum, photographs taken by young people living in East Manchester at the National Football Museum; ‘Magic’, a montage of work installation, curated by visual artist Sumit Sarkar and hosted at the Royal Exchange; and coral beds and mosaic sea creatures created by young people with special educational needs at the Town Hall Annex.
The project will celebrate youth creativity, and the diverse communities that live across the city. It will also highlight some of the many different cultural and leisure venues in Manchester.
An online trail map is available to download, providing the opportunity to follow the trail and discover each exhibit.
