About

Gather your herd and join Whirlow Hall Farm on Sunday 8th July for a day of fun activities on the special working farm. Come Rain or Shine it’s Farm Fayre time!

The annual Farm Fayre event is back with some fantastic new additions to keep your little ones busy throughout the day. The NEW festival garden has a jam packed schedule of free activities including infant yoga, a mini mid-day rave with a special piggy guest, story time, sing and sign, performing arts workshops and even sensory sessions with a professional harpist courtesy of the very popular concerteenies! Help decorate the garden by making giant flowers and butterflies to hang in the trees and plant in the ground! The festival garden will provide a magical experience where art, music and literature are entwined in a safe and beautiful outdoor space.

Peruse up to 70 local craft and farmers market stalls in the lambing barn whilst listening to the funky sounds of local groups such as the popular Birkdale Soul Band and Girls High Pop choir. Say hello to the exotic animals coming on the day and be sure to take the kids for a pony ride in the ménage.

The field will once again come alive (be sure to wear suitable footwear to the farm!) NEW for this year a pop up beach… yes on the farm! If the sun is shining you can chill out in a deckchair and let your little ones get creative building sand castles. There will be lots of street food and a pop up bar serving local ales, gins and bubbles PLUS a new main stage with live entertainment and a community arena with local dance groups performing.

The large ‘GO OUTDOORS’  area sponsored by Monty’s of Sheffield will be bursting with FREE forest school activities such as den building, mud kitchen, fire lighting and creative art. Arborist Tree Care will be here demonstrating what amazing things can be done with a tree trunk, and you can sit and listen to the Whirlow farmer giving talks about the animals who live here, the workings of the farm and look at the various rare breeds and machinery on display. Static birds and a falconry show shouldn’t be missed and you can test your driving skills on the ‘have a go’ mini Land Rovers and book a test drive on a SUZUKI while cooing over their stunning range on display.

The outdoor play area will of course be open; plus the usual rides and slides and face painting; and archaeological activities taking place around the farm plus much more!

The best bit kids under 14 have FREE ENTRY and adults are just £6 on the day PLUS all the funds raised will directly support the farm's crucial work with vulnerable youngsters within South Yorkshire.

A truly exciting family day out.
