Some people say that there are only seven types of story in the world. Visit a brand new exhibition from Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children's Books which launches this April 2020.
The new exhibition Where Stories Come From explores this concept that there are only seven different stories in the world. Visitors of all ages will be taken on a journey through these plots, each brought to life with unique items from Seven Stories’ superb archive collection including the typewriter used by Enid Blyton to create her hugely popular adventures, original illustrations from The Queen's Knickers by Nicholas Allan as well as a notebook containing the first-ever draft of The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson.
Do you know what the seven types of stories are? From Quest to Overcoming the Monster, Rags to Riches to Voyage and Return - you'll be blown away when you visit Seven Stories' new exhibition and discover how all stories boil down to seven troupes.
