Take a vintage bus ride across the city this summer, as the City of Portsmouth Preserved Transport Depot hosts a number of services across lots of different routes.

Step aboard and journey across Portsmouth on these classic, expertly preserved buses.

20 April
Open Day at the Depot in Cranleigh Road, Portchester (PO16 9DP). Please note there is no parking on site but a free vintage bus runs from Cosham Railway Station via Portchester Precinct - where there is parking - and the depot.

Free vintage seafront service from The D-Day Story

1 June
Following the extension of the trolleybus wiring from Milton to Cosham via Copnor Bridge, Portsmouth Corporation introduced a new service on 25 May 1952. Numbered 5/6, the route ran until 1 May 1977. To mark the 73rd anniversary of its introduction, the CPPTD will recreate the route on Sunday 1 June 2025 with a four-bus free vintage service following the original route from Cosham Red Lion to the Dockyard via Copnor, Milton, Eastney and South Parade Pier. The route was operated by a selection of vehicles overthe years. Timetables will be on sale on the day and the first bus will leave either end of the route at 11am then every half hour until 4pm.

The seafront service departs The D-Day Story every hour from 11.30am to 3.30pm (inclusive). From The D-Day Story the buses stop at Clarence Pier, Portsmouth Museum and Art Gallery (6 minute break), Broad Street/Feltham Row and Canoe Lake, before returning to The D-Day Story at around 5 past the hour.
