Victory in Europe Event at Peak Rail

About

Peak Rail are joining Matlock Town Council and Darley Dale town council to celebrate Victory in Europe day. Various events hosted by both councils will be held from 1pm onwards on Friday 8th May 2020, in the Hall Leys Park and Whitworth Park.

Steam Trains will be operated from Rowsley South Station to Matlock Platform 2.  A convoy of military vehicles will leave Rowsley South Station en route to Hall Leys Park throughout the day. So why not aboard the train to Darley Dale or Matlock and enjoy the celebrations! 

Join us on Saturday 9th May and Sunday 10th May for a weekend of thrilling battle re-enactments based on the final days of the 3rd Reich.

You will encounter allied, German and Home front re-enactors in fox holes, trench system and allied encampments. A variety of period vehicles, authentic equipment, 1940’s music with Dapper Dan, Kyle Evans performing as George Formby, Punch and Judy, together with children’s games of the era. There will also be various 1940’s themed stalls.
