If you like a bit of adventure, there’s plenty to be had at the National Trust's Top of the Gorge festival at Cheddar, being held over the weekend of 14-16 June.
Sign up for cycling or running challenges of all shapes and sizes, or try something more quirky. There’s tree bathing, archery, star-gazing, food foraging, campfire cooking and lots more to get your teeth into. A pop-up campsite over the weekend provides a rare chance to stay at the spot, with views through the jaws of the gorge towards the Somerset coast. You can pop along for the day too, with tickets from £15. Find out more: nationaltrust.org.uk/topofthegorge
