Step into the Laundry to discover a new artistic textile installation inspired by the Bankes Archive and the lives and stories of some of the women of the Bankes family who have shaped Kingston Lacy.
Threads of Narrative is an artistic textile response to the Dorset History Centre’s Unlocking the Bankes Archive project, which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
One of Dorset’s largest and most noteworthy archive collection, the Bankes Archive is stored in 800 boxes and is made up of approximately 25,000 individual items.
Artists have worked in collaboration with the archive to produce artwork inspired by some of the many documents and photographs contained within the collection.
Normal National Trust admission charges apply.
