The Weir Garden is one of the National Trust’s most beautiful Herefordshire properties, running alongside the famous River Wye. The variety of veteran trees provide the perfect environment for a range of interesting mushrooms and plants to grow.
The course starts with a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes.
We’ll then set off on a roughly 2.5 hour walk around the gardens and along the River Wye, teaching you how to identify the different plants and mushrooms that we find.
We'll stop along the way for some seasonal homemade refreshments, such as our lovely wild garlic & hogweed soup.
After the walk, we will end the day with a tasty wild food lunch based on what we have found and some pre-prepared homemade treats.
After the course, we will email you a list of everything we talk about on the day to help you to remember what you have learnt.
There are limited spaces available so please book your tickets online.
Adults £50, under 16's £25, under 12's free.
