About

It's that time of year we start getting in the festive mood and ready for Christmas with a whole host of fabulous local events taking place across all nine of our town centres.

The fantastic Northern Lights - Tameside Christmas Celebration will light the way to the start of the festivities on Saturday 19 November 2022, this year the honour goes to Ashton, with Denton, Stalybridge and Hyde holding the event in previous years as part of the council's vibrant programme of cultural events.

The event will also kick start the first ever Festive Window Trail in Ashton, which families will enjoy over the Christmas period which will add extra sparkle to the festivities while encouraging footfall to the town and supporting local businesses.

Local shops and businesses will work with artists to bring light to the town centre by creating festive themed window displays so that residents and families can then follow the trail with a special map available from Ashton Library.
