About

The Stoller Hall and Chetham's Outreach present four musical story journeys for pre-schoolers and their grown-ups.

Part of our Elements of Nature programme, children will discover through interactive workshops four of the natural elements that make life possible: air, earth, fire and water.

SNOWBEAR'S STORY - Monday 25 September 2022

Come along and help shy Snowbear find a way to tell his story! See his melodies dance colours through the Air. If stories were sounds and had colour, what sounds and colours would your stories reveal? Join our artists Carla, Lizzie and Matouš as they explore the wonderful 'Air' element of nature through story, illustration and sound – followed by a classic chamber music tale performed by Trio Bohémo to top it off.

DANDYLION AND THE SAD STEM - Saturday 22 October 2022

Come and join Dandylion as he helps a sad flower stem to find its lost petals scattered over Africa's plains. Led by storyteller Carla Henry and illustrator Lizzie Finlay, this interactive workshop features live music inspired by Soweto's glorious gospel choir and their Freedom concert tour, in honour of the father of their rainbow nation, Nelson Mandela. This will open a world of imagination through song, drawing and spoken word.

THE LITTLE GREEN DRAGON - Sunday 4 December 2022

Can you help Little Dragon, scared to breathe fire, find his courage and his treasure? What is the sound of fire, and of courage? Come along and join our artists on this interactive adventure and have a peek inside The Stoller Hall, where you will find young musicians from Trafford Music Service, who have found their courage, and are playing their hearts out!

THE HAPPY RAINDROP - Sunday 18 December 2022

Come and join us for another magical story–time! Experience a brand new mystery tale with original drawings and beautiful song – all celebrating, and inspired by, the wonderful theme of water! How will our artists capture something of the changeable and life-giving essence of water in the spirit of Christmas? Come along to find out!
