Today’s event celebrates the contribution of women to aviation, engineering, and to Shuttleworth through an air display of Collection aircraft, and ground show that includes agricultural exhibits, vehicle display, and exhibition at The House.
The Shuttleworth Collection exists today because of Richard Shuttleworth’s love and passion for collecting and restoring vintage aircraft and veteran vehicles, preserved after his death by his mother Dorothy. Herself an impressive woman, dedicated to education and the surrounding community, Dorothy’s own story is that of a pretty extraordinary woman!
Follow the Extraordinary women heritage trail, and the Richard Shuttleworth trail (download the app), enjoy live music, explore the activities in our children’s discovery zone, take a free ride on vintage buses, explore the Swiss Garden and The House, and enjoy craft activities for children in the Swiss Garden, and make a free aircraft model with Airfix & IPMS Brampton ‘Make & Paint’.
