Shildon ParkPlay

About

ParkPlay is designed to do “what it says on the tin” - bring play to parks and green spaces, albeit play for kids and adults alike. From quick-cricket to frisbee to rounders, ParkPlay runs every Saturday morning from 9.30am and is completely free for people who join in.

ParkPlay brings people from local communities together every Saturday morning, in green spaces across the country, and does it for free. The events are run by local PlayLeaders and tailored week-by-week according to what games and activities the group enjoys.

Kids, parents and grandparents are welcome, none of the games require experience and no kit is required.

There are ParkPlay sessions in County Durham, in Shildon, Crook, Easington and Chilton and Chopwell ParkPlay  taking place each week from 9.30am.

There are currently 28 ParkPlay locations across six counties in the UK, with the aim of expanding to 90 parks and green spaces by the end of 2022.

Where we Play

Hackworth Park, Central Parade, Shildon DL4 1DL 

You’ll find us in the middle of the park, behind the play area.

Getting Here

The best way to get to ParkPlay is on foot or by bike. You can access from the park from Central Parade.

We recommend avoiding travelling by car as far as possible.
