Secret Life of the Zoo Tour

Do you want to know about the real secret life of the zoo? Join us on an exclusive tour to see some of the stars of the show as our animals and keepers get ready for another exciting day at the zoo. You will be guided around our 128-acre site by one of our experienced zoo rangers in your very own specially outfitted tour bus!

You will be able to spot some of the famous faces from TV such as our penguins, sloths and rhinos, as well as learning all about their lives here at the zoo and what we are doing to protect their wild relatives. After your tour of the zoo in the morning, you’ll be dropped off at Monsoon Forest ready for zoo opening so you can continue exploring for the rest of the day!

Hop aboard our special tour bus and embark on an exclusive tour of our spectacular 128 acre zoo! Feel like a VIP as our experienced zoo expert takes you on a fun-filled adventure around the zoo and introduces you to some of our incredible animals along the way.

You’ll be able to spot some of the animal stars from “The Secret Life of the Zoo” TV show, such as our penguins, sloths and rhinos! LEARN all about their lives here at the zoo and what we are doing to protect their wild relatives. DISCOVER what it takes to get the zoo ready for a busy day.

After experiencing the sights and sounds of the zoo you’ll finish your tour at Monsoon Forest, just in time for zoo opening where you will continue your adventure!

  • Facilities for Hearing Impaired Visitors - We have a “loop system” installed at some of our main customer contact areas, including our gates. Simply look out for the blue and white logo
  • Guide Dogs Permitted - Guide dogs and sensing/hearing dogs are very welcome at the Zoo. However, we do ask that they avoid our Monkey, Chimpanzee and Elephant enclosures.
  • Parking Areas for Disabled Visitors - On arrival you will find 35 designated parking spaces for orange or blue badge holders.

From M56, Junction 14 or M53, Junction 12, follow the brown tourist signs to Chester Zoo.

Chester Zoo is less than an hour from Liverpool and Manchester and is clearly signposted.

The coach park is at the main entrance with plenty of free parking. SAT NAV CH2 1EU.  

Public Transport Directions
