Salcombe Crab Festival (Crabfest)

About

Inspired by the famously flavoursome brown crab caught off the South Devon coast, Salcombe Crab Festival – or Crabfest – is an annual celebration of the local fishing, food and tourism industries.

The family friendly festival takes place on Sunday 5 May and is sponsored by Coast and Country Cottages, Crew Clothing and Salcombe Gin.

Enjoy a full day of events including cookery demos, crab picking masterclasses, live music and much more.

Take a seat in the demonstration kitchen and watch celebrity chefs Matt Tebbutt (BBC's Saturday Kitchen, Channel 4's Food Unwrapped), Jack Stein (chef director of the Rick Stein Group, TV presenter and author) and Mitch Tonks (award-winning restaurateur, chef and author) show off their skills alongside some of our best local chefs.

Dig out your bucket and line for some quayside crab catching or simply spend your day soaking up the atmosphere and checking out the top quality stalls selling an unrivalled mix of locally produced food, drink, artisan crafts, clothing, gifts, activities and escapes.
