Pregnant Then Screwed Live - Festival of Motherhood and Work

About

On May 11th, the only UK festival of motherhood and work comes to Manchester with headline superstar Jamelia.

Over 50 inspirational women will take to the stage over the festival, which will bring 300 mums together under one roof to do workshops, talks and one to ones on confidence, entrepreneurship, flexible working, your legal rights, powering up your career and relationships. You can purchase tickets from £13.50.

Speakers include; Writer and broadcaster from the hit podcast CTRL ALT DELETE Emma Gannon, founding leader of the women's equality party Sophie Walker, author of 'Mother of all jobs' Christine Armstrong and Tova Leigh who has taken to social channels with a mission to unite woman with her humour and raw honesty. Superstar Jamelia will headline the event, talking honestly about life as a mum and the mental health challenges of parenthood.

Brimming with creative superstars, Carrie Anne Roberts and Remi Sade will be recording a live recording for their podcast 'Alright for a Mum', the legendary poet and spoken word performer Erin May Kelly will be performing some of her much-loved poetry and influencer Sara Tasker (@me_and_orla) will talk about how she built a 6 figure business whilst living in rural Yorkshire with a chronic illness and a young daughter.

In addition there will be 1:1 coaching available to women to overcome individual challenges that they are facing from legal, to personal with our life coaches and legal experts.

Joeli Brearley, Founder of Pregnant Then Screwed comments, "Motherhood is complicated. We are told we can have it all, but in reality, no matter what we try and do we are forced to make huge sacrifices. Many women are pushed out of their job for daring to procreate leaving them lacking in confidence and in a precarious financial position. Others try and progress their career, but quickly realise the system doesn't support people to be both professionally successful and an active parent. Stay at home mums are made to feel that they are lazy and invisible, while those who work are told they are neglecting their child (according to some newspapers we are even responsible for the obesity epidemic). Pregnant Then Screwed Live rebuilds women's confidence, mental health and wellbeing; gives women the tools they need to challenge the discrimination they encounter and helps them find work that works for them. We find new ways of navigating the complex world of motherhood and work. Mums leave the festival feeling re-energised, empowered and ready for another day.''

Tickets are on sale now. A full festival pass is £28 per person or a half day pass is from £13.50. There are 30 free tickets available for mums who are unwaged or mums on universal credit. Children and babies are welcome to attend.
