Poetry Circle

About

The Poetry Circle has been in existence for at least 11 years meeting as now in St.Ives Library, in the Upstairs Meeting Room. For those who may need it there is a lift available (and a loo!). We meet the first Friday of the month all year round unless it happens to fall on a holiday such as Good Friday, then we simply move forward a week. Start time is 1.30 and we finish between 3 and 3.30.
The Poetry Circle is for pleasure/enjoyment so to that end we invite participants to read aloud their own poems or favourite poems written by others, which often leads to some light weight discussion......However, if a participant is a little shy someone else may read their poem or indeed anyone can just come along and listen. Everyone including visitors are welcome. They can borrow poetry books for the duration from the Library. Its free!
