Once Upon A Time – Easter TraiL
April 19 - April 22
Once Upon a Time at Forde Abbey there lived Goldilocks and a family of bears, a girl named Cinderella and Jack and some very magic beans. The Three Little Pigs preferred to build their own houses on the estate, although there was always a troublesome wolf, huffing and puffing about something or other and causing mischief.
This Easter, we’ll be joined by a cast-list of characters straight from the pages of Fairy Tale classics for an enchanting weekend in the gardens at Forde Abbey.
Hunt for clues and solve the challenges along the way, and meet some very friendly faces that are sure to capture your imagination. There’s chocolatey treats for everyone who takes part in this adventure and ‘Once Upon a Time’ story telling for children, both big and small.
On Friday 19th and Saturday 20th, Fairy tales will be read throughout the day by Heather Frith who is a Children’s Book Advisor and Reading Mentor.
On Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd, join professional storyteller Martin Maudsley for a series of magical storytelling sessions, bringing fairytales and folktales to life with spoken word, music and plenty of audience interaction. Find out what’s behind the secret door in the oak tree, who is King of the Birds and why dragons are the best storytellers. Martin will be in residence at 11.30 and 2pm on the Sunday and Monday.
Open from 10am – 4pm each day.
