About

NOW ONLINE - Unfortunately, the Remembrance Service in Northenhay Gardens taking place on Sunday 8th November has been cancelled, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

However, a service will be streamed online from 11am on the Facebook pages of Exeter Cathedral, Exeter City Council, and Devon County Council the same day!

A Civic Party led by the Lord Mayor and comprising City Councillors, Honorary Aldermen, MP, representatives from the Fire Service, Army, Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Police, Sea Cadets and University and others, will lead a Service of Remembrance on Sunday 8 November 2020, which is conducted at the City's War Memorial in Northernhay Gardens, when everyone is welcome to attend.

The Lord Mayor's Chaplain will conduct the service which commences at 10.50 am, with the Exeter Salvation Army Band accompanied by the University of Exeter’s Chapel Choir will perform before the service as well as supporting the hymns. A large number of ex-service Units and other local associations are represented around the War Memorial carrying Standards and laying wreaths. Any associations which currently don't attend but would like to be represented at the service are asked to contact the Lord Mayor's office to register their interest so that an appropriate position can be allocated for them.

A Parade Marshall will provide military guidance with a Bugler playing Reveille and Last Post.

For further details please contact the Lord Mayor's office on 01392 265524 or mayoralty@exeter.gov.uk.
