The present Hall was built in 1604 and has seen Civil War and involvement in the Gun Powder plot.
It became a Rectory in 1756 and remained so until1967 when it was part of the government buildings of Chesterfield, during a reshuffle in 1974. The Staveley Town Council bought it

From North/South Leave M1 motorway at junction 30 and take A616 (signposted Chesterfield and Worksop). At roundabout take 4th exit (A619, signposted Chesterfield). Follow road for approx 3 miles and at roundabout in Staveley take 1st exit into Staveley Hall Drive. Follow road to Hall.
From East Follow A617 to M1 motorway. At roundabout take 4th exit (M1 North). Leave M1 motorway at junction 30 and follow route from North/South.
From West Follow A619 into Chesterfield. At traffic controlled roundabout (Matalan) select middle lane and take 3rd exit. At traffic lights keep left and go straight on. Select right hand lane and at roundabout take 3rd exit. At next roundabout (traffic light controlled) select left lane and take 2nd exit (A617). Follow road for approx 4 miles and, at roundabout take 1st exit (M1 North). Leave M1 motorway at junction 30 and follow route from North/South
