This Easter you are invited to The Mad Hatters Tea Party... Tumble down the rabbit hole and discover the Mad Hatter's Tea Party at the Churnet Valley Railway this Easter. Specially decorated trains will be running through the scenic Staffordshire countryside. Once on board you can enjoy a range of themed treats as you discover a tea party that will delight all the family.
Much-loved characters Alice, the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit will be strolling through the train to talk to all the children, parents and grandparents. You can relax with a warming hot drink while the children enjoy a soft drink followed by a selection of delicious cakes. But don't get too comfortable as the Queen of Hearts is out on her Royal Train to inspect her subjects so behave or it will be "Off with your head".
Passengers can take part in the Humpty Dumpty Easter Egg Hunt with a complimentary activity sheet. Keep an eye out through the window of the train to find the clues and solve the puzzles of where Humpty Dumpty has hidden the March Hare ...
Begin your journey from our Froghall or Cheddleton stations where you can enjoy hot and cold food from our Signals Tea Room, or gifts from Signals Souvenirs at Froghall. Ample free parking is available at both stations.
With the Royal Balloon artists creating the finest creations to fight the fiercest of foes or the court face painter who will be sure to make a fool out of you there is plenty to do off the train as well.
