Macclesfield Festival has been established since 2017 and is regarded as Cheshire’s No1 Family Friendly Festival. Curated by local residents for local residents, the festival has become one of the highlights of the year for Cheshire families and indeed families and festival goers far and wide, with thousands of regular visitors attending annually from as far away as Australia!
The festival really has something for everyone. Huge names have graced the Macclesfield Rocks Main Stage from the festival inception in 2017, including the Happy Mondays, the Brand New Heavies, Soul II Soul, Heather Small, The Virginmarys, and Dodgy to name a few, as well as the best of local talent. In recent years due to feedback we have put some incredible high energy tribute line ups together which cover many music genres from SKA, rock, pop, indie, and everything in between, which remains the focus of our current festival.
Our kids stage has had its share of stars as well, with CBeebies Mr Bloom and Rastamouse in attendance in previous years. We always have lots going on in the kids zone including super hero shows, princess shows, dinosaurs, pony rides, inflatables, zorbing, magic shows, dance shows, talent shows, costume groups including Disney, Star Wars and Transformers characters, facepainting, glitter tattoos, stilt walkers, magicians, pirate shows, toy stalls and a giant funfair packed with rides.
For dance music lovers our dance tents have always been a highlight of the festival. Our main tent plays house music and is hosted by local DJ and resident Rob Thurston and is dedicated to our resident DJ Stu Allan who sadly passed away after his battle with cancer.
Our food court features cuisine from around the world including Greek, Asian, Thai, Spanish, fresh Pizza and hearty British classics from fish and chips to gourmet burgers. Desert stands include sweet stalls, donuts, crepes, ice cream, ice curls and more.
For that luxury experience the VIP tickets offer private toilets and bar inside our clubhouse, with a balcony view of the main stage. Who knows who you will bump into at the festival, the mayor of Macclesfield regularly visits the event, as well as premier league footballers and some of the Cheshire housewives!
A fireworks finale caps off a truly memorable evening, and ensures the festival finishes with a bang!
