Description The pump house building will be open for viewing of the impressive beam engine, still capable of lifting 4 tons of water at each stroke from the river Derwent into the Cromford Canal.
N.B. The pump will not be in steam
Free entry but donations towards engine maintenance gratefully accepted
The pump house is on the Cromford canal, a few minutes walk south of High Peak Junction, or just over a mile walk from the Cromford meadows car park. Cromford car park post code is DE4 3RP.High Peak Junction car park (only accessible from Crich direction due to road closure) is on Lea Road, between Cromford and Lea. Nearest post code to High Peak is DE4 5AA
