Honiton’s Gate to Plate is a free one day annual food festival that celebrates the finest food, drink and craft producers in East Devon. The popular food festival is set to return to Honiton High Street on August 19th.
Last year there were over 50 stalls selling cheeses, gourmet meats, locally produced wine and cider, desserts and homewares, such as wax clingfilm. Hot food stalls in attendance included Thai food, specialist macaroni and cheese and churros. There are also cookery demonstrations by some of the area’s top chefs and food experts who present their work in an on-street show kitchen.
The free event continues the town’s wonderful and long established market tradition, which dates back to the 13th Century when Honiton was granted a Royal Charter to hold a market.
There is always a great variety of different food, drink and crafters who will line the high street, offering visitors to come see, come try and come buy.
The event is fully accessible for buggies, scooters, pushchairs and is also dog friendly.
