Opened over 160 years ago, the second public cemetery in Derbyshire, the burials in Spital Cemetery reflect huge social change. On the cemetery tour we will 'meet' men and women who worked to help ordinary people have a voice and opportunity through education, knowledge and association.
This is a supporting Exhibition at St Leonard's Centre. Drop in between 1pm - 5pm

From North/South Leave M1 at junction 29 and follow A617 to Chesterfield (approx 4 miles). At traffic light controlled roundabout select middle lane and take 3rd exit. At next roundabout select right lane and take 3rd exit (A632, signposted Bolsover). At traffic lights (Bridge Inn) go straight on and, at next traffic lights turn right onto Spital Lane. Take 2nd left onto Valley Road and St Leonard’s Mission is on junction of Stanle Street, Valley Road, Hartington Road and Alexandra Road East.
From East Follow A617 to junction with M1 motorway, then follow route from North/South.
From West Follow A619 to Chesterfield. At traffic light controlled roundabout (Matalan) select middle lane and take 3rd exit. Keep in left lane and, at traffic lights go straight on. Keep in left lane and, at roundabout, select middle lane and take 2nd exit (A632, signposted Bolsover). Then follow route from North/South.
