Great Torrington Cavaliers Mayflower Bonfire & Pyromusical

About

The internationally renowned Great Torrington Cavaliers are staging their most ambitious themed bonfire and fireworks spectacular on Saturday 28th August 2021: fitting as this will be our 50th anniversary and probably the last bonfire we will build!

The main centre piece is a full sized replica of the Mayflower ship in port! The Mayflower sailed from Plymouth to the New World in 1620 and this event commemorates the 400th anniversary of the sailing. The Great Torrington Cavaliers were born after an invite from the Lord Mayor of Plymouth in 1970 to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower and now on our 50th anniversary the theme for our bonfire just had to be the Mayflower!

The event starts at 5pm with entertainment from Burnin' Man, The Hoodoos and some shanty singers.

The first fireworks display will be a Pyromusical (fireworks set to music) fired from the ship: a truly spectacular event in its own right!

The bonfire lighting process will be next and when the ship is well alight, the massive fireworks display will be fired from behind the ship.

This is an event not to be missed, so buy your tickets via our website where you can also find out more about the event: www.torrington-cavaliers.co.uk. All monies raised go to charity.
