If stunning views, inspiring history and graffiti murals are your thing, then the Great Bristol Run is right up your street. It’s not just the scenery that attracts runners from far and wide; the start line DJ, rocking on-course music zones and post-race celebrations create an unbeatable atmosphere. Each year, thousands of runners take to the streets of Bristol to take on the challenge – will you join in 2024?
Road Closures
The 10k route starts in the city centre and takes runners past the vibrant waterfront before crossing on to Spike Island, through Wapping Wharf and a loop around the beautiful Queen Square which marks the halfway point – runners then cross over into Redcliffe before rounding the historical Castle Park on a final section through Old City, before the grandstand finish on Anchor Road. The Half Marathon shares the same route but includes an out and back section along Portway.
There will be a rolling program of road closures starting from Anchor Road at 04:00 to ensure a safe running route. Roads will be reopened in phases once each section is clear of runners, litter and event infrastructure. All roads will be reopened by 17:00. During the road closure vehicular access will not be possible unless otherwise stated or pre-agreed.
