Venture out with a professional forager on a unique experience around the beautiful grounds of The Welbeck Estate. This one-day course will give you the skills, knowledge and confidence to source and cook confidently with wild seasonal ingredients.

Armed with your forager’s basket, you will head out to discover the vast array of wild edible species that can be found in the great outdoors. The school's forager extraordinnaire will first teach you how to accurately identify each species, including tips on avoiding potential look-a-likes and share their insight into how seasonally foraged ingredients can be used in a variety of recipes and dishes.

You will then take on the role of the forager, harvesting a range of wild and fresh ingredients. And because foraging is hungry and thirsty work you’ll also have the chance to enjoy a selection of pre-made wild food tasters, over a freshly prepared seasonal buffet lunch.

During the afternoon session you'll head back outside to complete another foraging route, before returning to the School for a series of wild-food cooking demonstrations and tasters with all that's been foraged from the day.

At the end of the course you will be provided with wider foraging information and the recipes from the day. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

Please wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions and remember to bring a note pad if you’d like to take notes and a camera if you’d like to take pictures.

This course is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

The School of Artisan Food is nestled in Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, just a few minutes from the A1 and M1.
