Lucky the Easter donkey joins in the Easter Holiday Hunt

About

Take part in The Donkey Sanctuary's special Easter adventure celebrating 50 years helping donkeys and mules in need – and claim a tasty Easter treat on completion!

Since their foundation in 1969, the charity has rescued over 20,000 donkeys around the UK and mainland Europe. Follow the trail around the sanctuary to find the Easter eggs and discover some of the most iconic donkeys to have come into their care, before claiming your Easter egg and certificate on completion. Just £3 per Easter hunt.

Spring is a great time of year to enjoy our scenic farm trails in the beautiful East Devon countryside and meet some of our lovable resident donkeys. From the adorable miniatures to gentle giant Poitous and charismatic adoption friends, they all have unique characters and stories just waiting to be discovered.

Over the Easter holidays you'll also have the chance to win a VIP Bray & Stay experience at for up to 4 people, when signing up for the new Dawdle for Donkeys fundraising walk on 15 June. The family-friendly 5k and adventurous 10k course will take in the stunning walks around the sanctuary overlooking the world famous Jurassic Coast and is the perfect way to get out and about while raising vital funds for donkeys in need.

During your visit join one of the fascinating tours, talks and demonstrations provided by the visitor team. And explore the exciting new indoor attractions to discover just why donkeys are so special through fun, interactive displays in the new Exhibition Barn, Understanding Donkeys Zone and Dr Svendsen's Hut.

Enjoy stunning coast and country views from the Taste of the West award-winning restaurant, The Kitchen, where you'll find freshly-prepared, seasonal dishes using local, ethically sourced produce. Hearty breakfasts, luscious lunches and tempting treats are served daily from 9am to 5pm. And for unique donkey-design items and souvenirs to remember your visit by, head to the new Gift Shop.

The Donkey Sanctuary celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019, after being founded as a charity in 1969 by Dr Elisabeth Svendsen MBE. It has many achievements to celebrate and a renewed vision for the future that will transform the welfare of donkeys and mules across the world.

Entry and parking at the sanctuary is FREE (donations welcome). Dogs on leads are welcome.
