The Dorset County Show returns this year with a range of attractions and activities for attendees of all ages. It has become one of the county’s largest annual outdoor events, attracting 60,000 visitors and is the flagship event for the Dorchester Agricultural Society. Agriculture sits at the core of the Show alongside rural trade, crafts and food; the traditional livestock judging, equine competitions and horticulture classes maintain the Show’s ethos and atmosphere while new ways of promoting farming have been introduced.
The show hosts various displays and sections where the public can witness farming practices such as milking or shearing. In 2018 a brand-new education area was launched, Fabulous Food & Farming, full of hands-on learning stations about farms, food and heathy living. Additionally, the public enjoy a variety of attractions and 450 trade stands.
