On Sunday October 29, Diwali celebrations begin at 3pm on Leicester's 'Golden Mile'
The 40th anniversary of the Diwali lights switch-on in Leicester will be commemorated with an evening of entertainment along Belgrave Road. Up to 40,000 people are expected to attend the event, which will feature a vibrant program of music and dance, a fantastic firework display, and a Rangoli exhibition at Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre.
The stage programme for Diwali lights switch-on runs from 5.30pm – 8.30pm on Belgrave Road with the lights turned on at 7.30pm, followed by the fireworks, which can be viewed from Belgrave Road.
The Diwali Village on Cossington Street Recreation Ground features children’s fun-fair rides and stalls including food and concessions running from 3pm – 9pm.
