Concert by Jennifer Pike (Violin) and Martin Roscoe (Piano)

About

The internationally acclaimed violinist, Jennifer Pike, performs at Holmes Chapel Music Society with the brilliant Martin Roscoe (Piano)
Renowned for her unique artistry and compelling insight into music from the Baroque to the present day, Jennifer Pike has firmly established herself as one of today's most exciting instrumentalists. She made her concerto debut with the Hallé Orchestra aged 11, and her international career was launched the following year when she won the BBC Young Musician and became the youngest major prize winner in the Menuhin International Violin Competition. Appearing as soloist in the world's top concert halls, she has performed with eminent conductors including Sir Andrew Davis, Jirí Belohlávek, Sir Mark Elder, Juanjo Mena, Andris Nelsons, Sir Roger Norrington, Alondra de la Parra, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Leif Segerstam, Tugan Sokhiev, Mark Wigglesworth and Vladimir Fedoseyev. Jennifer will include Vaughan Williams' beautiful Lark Ascending in her performance, which won her Classic FM's Hall of Fame at Easter 2019.
With an extraordinary career spanning over four decades, Martin Roscoe is unarguably one of the UK's best loved pianists and vice president of Holmes Chapel Music Society. Renowned for his versatility at the keyboard, Martin is equally at home in concerto, recital and chamber performances. In an ever more distinguished career, his enduring popularity and the respect in which he is universally held are built on a deeply thoughtful musicianship allied to an easy rapport with audiences and fellow musicians alike.
