Cirencester's spacious, centrally located Market Place is the perfect place for markets and community events and a number of regular and speciality markets as well as community events are held throughout the year.
Cirencester’s historic Charter Markets are held every Monday and Friday from 9am to 3pm. The markets feature an array of stalls which include the highest quality fresh food, plants, local produce, crafts, luxury items, quirky keepsakes and much more. Cirencester Charter Market has a long and proud history as one of the oldest Charter Markets in the country and was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086. The majority of traders are locally based small business enterprises who are incredibly enthusiastic about their products, the market and Cirencester itself.
The Farmers' Market takes place on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month between 9am and 2.30pm. This market proudly showcases local produce and goods and all traders are within a 30-mile radius of the town. From locally brewed beer, pies, chocolate brownies, game poultry, fruit and veg... you name it, if it's in season and local, it will be at the Cirencester Farmers' Market!
A monthly Arts & Crafts Market is held on the 1st Saturday of each month between March and December, providing local artists and makers an opportunity to sell their original and unique pieces directly to the public.
There’s something happening on the Market Place most weekends, with a full calendar of speciality and themed markets, food festivals, and community events there’s little chance of missing out.
Cirencester’s Markets and events are delivered by Cirencester Town Council; for more information visit their website https://cirencester.gov.uk/markets and follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram (@CirenMarkets and @CirenTC).
