Bumblebee Guided Walk on Braunton Burrows

About

Join Alex Worsley from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust for this guided walk across the Braunton Burrows
About this Event
This walk which will start from Sandy Lane Car Park, Braunton Burrows, will be an informal bumblebee ID walk.

Braunton Burrows in North Devon is four square miles of spectacular sand dunes, and home to a rich variety of plant and animal life. It is extremely important for bumblebees and holds Devon's last remaining large population of the nationally declining Section 41 Priority species, the Brown-banded carder bee (Bombus humilis). Elsewhere in the county, it is known only from scattered records at a handful of sites around North Devon.

In order to comply with Covid 19 restrictions, numbers for this event are strictly limited and participants must be pre booked to attend.

This event is family friendly and suitable for older children. Suitable footwear and clothing must be worn to take account of the rough terrain and weather. It is suggested you bring a sun hat/ sun cream and water.
