All Aboard Watersports are pleased to offer open water swimming in the Floating Harbour this winter. The cost is £7. The swim will also feature sauna provided by Sivo Wellness and free coffee supplied by TrueStart Coffee.
All Aboard Watersports are also running yoga, meditation, sauna, as well as Sunday morning swims.
Water quality
The water quality in Baltic Wharf will be tested weekly to make sure it meets bathing water standards. Anything under 500 counts per 100ml is deemed as ‘excellent’. The latest results can be found here.
How to book a session
What you need to know before booking a swim
You must be able to swim a minimum of 50m continuously in deep water.
You must book your swim session in advance.
You must 18 or over.
You will have signed a waiver which will be sent to you via email after booking. Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable.
However, if there is a cancellation due to bad weather or poor water quality, we will issue you with a credit that you can use for future bookings up until the end of season. (It is our intention longer term to offer free/affordable swims for those where the cost is prohibitive).
If you have any specific health concerns please check with a health professional prior to your session.
One the day of your swim
The reception is by the steps to the left hand side of The Cottage pub.
You can arrive at any time from 8.50am until 9.45am, depending on how long you want to swim. There will be no entry into the water after 9.45am. Check in for your session at the desk by the swimming area. You will be given a band before you swim which you will hand back afterwards.
Swimmers can use the toilets and change opposite Harbour Master's office. We suggest that you come 'swim ready' as the facilities are not nearby.
What you will need to swim
• tow float
• brightly coloured swim cap
We encourage (not compulsory) swimmers to wear earplugs to stop cold water entering your ear canal, which can cause dizziness and nausea.
Wetsuits are optional but advised if you are not use to cold water.
Bring warm clothes for when you get out of the water. You can leave your clothes and belongings in a supervised enclosed area.
