Boardmasters 7th – 11th August 2024
Established in 1981, Boardmasters is a 5-day event situated across two stunning locations in Cornwall - the surfing mecca of the UK, Fistral Beach where Boardmasters famous International Surf Competitions take place and arguably the most stunning location in the country to watch live music, Watergate Bay. Last year saw Boardmasters welcome over 150,000 festivalgoers across its two sites over the 5 days of the festival. Boardmasters operates a tiered ticket system with price bands for tickets changing over time. The sooner you buy, the cheaper it is! Book tickets via the website.
Boardmasters is located across two sites bursting with the best in music and sports action. Keep the party going at the Beach Sessions with live music on idyllic Fistral Beach, as well as the Beach Bar and BBQ bringing the food, drink and DJ sets. Head into Newquay to party into the early hours with Boardmasters After Parties, which take place at clubs around the town centre. Don’t miss the Surf Village and Cornish Market where you can taste the local delights, as well as Surf Art, photography and film sessions. If watching the surf action from the sidelines has tempted you to try it out yourself, ride the waves with a Surf Lesson from a local surf school. Unwind and relax at the Wellbeing Area or the On Site Eco Spa for some well deserved pamper time. There is also Luxury Camping and Glamping on offer to upgrade your experience even more.
Boardmasters 2024 Line Up TBC
Boardmasters is raring to return to the Cornish coast this summer, for what’s set to be an epic festival filled to the brim with the very best in live music, plus world-class surf action. Today, with just two months to go, even more acts have been added to the bill for the Main Stage, Land of Saints, The View, The Keg & Pasty and Boardmasters VIP, for an unmissable five days of surf and music. Plus, surf competition entries for the Boardmasters OPEN are now live. Headlined by Foals, Gorillaz and Jorja Smith, Boardmasters takes place from 9th - 13th August 2023 across two stunning sites at Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach. See www.boardmasters.com for more information.
Surf Competition
Beyond the music, from the 7th – 11th August 2024, the Boardmasters OPEN will see the best pro surfers going head-to-head in the UK’s biggest surf competition held at surfing mecca Fistral Beach – with surfers battling it out on the waves in the Animal OPEN and BFGoodrich Longboard OPEN. Established in 1981, this year’s Boardmasters OPEN is run in conjunction with UKPSA to help develop the future of British surfing. The event is open to all national and international pro surfers, though surfers must follow the latest UK government guidelines surrounding travel and Covid-19. With men’s, women’s and junior’s divisions in all competitions, the time to enter is NOW.
Shuttle Bus Information
We encourage customers to use our shuttle bus service that operates between the Festival site at Watergate Bay and Newquay town centre, rather than driving their own car. The shuttle bus is the quickest way to reach Fistral Beach. It uses closed roads, it’s considerably quicker than your own car plus parking in Newquay is very limited.
The shuttle bus service will run from 07:30 – 04:30 each day between the Watergate Bay Festival Site and Newquay Town Centre (for Fistral Beach) with multiple buses operating on the route so waiting times are minimal. A reduced service will run on Monday morning. Shuttle buses will depart from Blue Car Park.

Watergate Bay is a little further out of Newquay Town. There is a regular shuttle bus (see below for info) from Newquay Town Centre to the Watergate Bay site. It is advisable that you do not drive up to the site, especially if you plan to drink. Camping customers will have a separate car park which will be accessible during the opening hours of the campsite.
