Aston Martin: A History

About

Join us on Friday 12 October for an evening with Steve Waddingham and Maitland Cook.

Steve Waddingham is one of the factory tour team at Aston Martin Lagonda.  His ‘day job’ also involves helping customers buy new cars and acting as a brand ambassador.  He looks after the Aston Martin Owners Club, Aston Martin Heritage Trust and Lagonda Club as their liaison and has taken on the role of company historian. Steve joined AML in 1990 and has worked in many departments over the years but is best known for the thousands of tours that he has conducted at Newport Pagnell, Bloxham and Gaydon.

From 1967 – 1971 Maitland Cook worked for JW Automotive Engineering Ltd, the Gulf sponsored John Wyer team that raced the Ford GT40, Porsche 917 and Mirage Ford.  Between 1968 and 1971 three world championships were won including the Le Mans 24 Hour race.  Maitland became good friends with John Wyer and was privy to many personal recollections of his Aston Martin career. Learn about the history and future plans of Aston Martin, a brand which is built around motorsport success and is famous for its role as James Bond’s car of choice.
