Artisan Food Market at Milsom Place

About

If your Saturday ritual involves wandering into town for a freshly brewed coffee in the courtyard at Carluccio’s, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find some extra treats in store. Milsom Place in Bath offers a new weekly artisan food market showcasing local and regional produce and speciality food

Every Saturday an ever changing mix of producers will hold market stalls in the courtyard, including the award winning Bath Soft Cheese Co, renowned for their organic Bath Soft Cheese and Wyfe of Bath Cheese. Using old fashioned manual methods, they make their cheese from cows milk at Park Farm in Kelston. It’s a family affair for the Greens of Glastonbury, who have been making cheese for four generations on the Somerset levels, well-known for their traditional farmhouse cheddar.

With her Hands is a one-woman foodie operation with Rachel Baker handmaking fruit jams, jellies, vinegars and mustards. Guided by traditional methods and flavours but never confined by them, she uses fruit gown in her Somerset fruit plot. Inspired by traditional and unusual pairings, she adds homegrown flowers and herbs to create unique and complex flavours. The Bath Food Co has Chutneys, Preserves and Relishes covered, made in small batches from local ingredients for an authentic homemade taste.
For those that like it hot The Chilli Hut is the one stop shop for all things spicy from sauces, chocolates, sweets and crisps – ranging from Mild to Wild!

For those with a sweet tooth, The Chocolate Society’s luxury Valrhona chocolates are dangerously tempting. If ‘healthy’ chocolate sounds too good to be true, try the award winning raw chocolate by Elements for Life – not only is it free of dairy, gluten, wheat and refined sugar but tastes great too. If you haven’t tried any goodies from new bespoke bakery Cinnamon Toast, keep an eye out for bite-size cakes, macaroons and tarts.

The Tea Studio can tell you exactly where each of their ethical fine teas comes from around the world. It was the Romans who introduced oil seed rape to this country, so it is only apt that Bath Harvest Oils farm in the Somerset countryside on the doorstep of Aquae Sulis to create their healthy alternative to olive oil.

Milsom Place has gained a reputation for fab foodie affairs with a range of popular food events throughout the year including Flavours of the West and The Fine Cheese Co Festival – now considered one of the greatest gatherings of artisan cheese makers in the country amongst cheesemakers.

Located at the heart of the city with its Georgian buildings and open courtyards Milsom Place is home to some of the city’s busiest eateries; Carluccio’s, Jamie’s Italian, which has recently opened its first independent deli, Deli@Jamie’s Italian at Milsom Place; Yo!Sushi and Café Parisien.
