The RHS have announced that they will be holding the Chelsea Flower Show virtually this year following the outbreak of Covid-19 which has seen them have to cancel their regular event. It’s the first time that the Chelsea Flower Show has been cancelled since the second world war and the first time it will take place online.

In an open letter published online, RHS Director General, Sue Biggs, said: “The RHS will create a virtual RHS Chelsea Flower Show to celebrate our great horticultural industry and gardening heritage.

“We cannot create the actual show at the Royal Hospital Charity, but we are looking at what we can do on our website and other platforms for people to enjoy and share the joy of gardening…

“In the meantime, thank you again from all of us at the RHS for your support and kindness during this difficult and sad time. Stay safe and look after yourselves.”

The virtual show will be running online from 19th-23rd May and aims to unite people around the joy of gardening from the comfort of their own homes. More information will be released on the RHS website and social platforms in the lead up to the show’s dates.
