The popular Foodies Festival returns with celebrity acts on the menu! The UK's biggest celebration of food and drink has set a date to return with a mouth-watering line-up of star chefs and major live music acts.

The hugely popular Foodies Festival, which attracts more than 25,000 visitors to each of its three-day events, is heading to nine UK venues - Brighton, Bristol, London, Birmingham, Cambridge, Cheshire, Edinburgh, Oxford and Southampton - for a feast of family fun between May and August.

For the second year running, the festival will play host to a live music stage featuring performances from headline act Scouting for Girls and boy band power group Boyzlife, comprising Westlife’s Brian McFadden and Boyzone's Keith Duffy.

Brian McFadden said: ‘’Keith Duffy and I are delighted to bring our Boyzlife tour to Foodies Festival, where we’ll be performing many of our favourite Boyzone and Westlife hits. It’s a perfect day out – wonderful food, summer sun and music everybody knows and loves.’’

‘’We’re so proud to be headline the Musicians Against Homelessness stage in support of Crisis, the national charity for homeless people. Homelessness is a growing problem all over the UK and every penny raised helps save lives. We are looking forward to seeing many of our fans out there.

MasterChef 2018 champion Kenny Tutt will be appearing again, as well as a host of Great British Bake Off stars and top chefs from up and down the country all showcasing their culinary genius in the Chef’s Theatre. Former Brighton bank manager, Kenny, met tens of thousands of fans as last year’s headline chef – and he’s delighted to be returning to the demonstration stage.

He said: “I had a great time travelling up and down the country to get on stage at the brilliant Foodies Festivals last year, so it goes without saying, that I’m excited to be back this May on my home turf of Brighton! I’m also opening my first restaurant, PITCH, just around the corner in Worthing in May, so I’ll be giving everyone a taste of what’s to come there.”

The 2019 Foodies Festival promises to be its biggest yet with the nine UK venues boasting more than 200 exhibitors and award-winning artisan producers, a Street Food Village, a Kids' Cookery School, Healthy Living Area, Chef’s Theatre and Food and Drink masterclasses. The events will once again highlight the plight of homeless people. Supported by Musicians Against Homelessness, the live music stage will see a mix of headline acts as well as talented emerging bands and solo artists perform.

Tickets will help raise cash for the UK-wide homelessness charity Crisis. For every ticket sold, the festival will make a donation to the cause. There will also be merchandise on sale giving a further boost to funds.

Festival director Sue Hitchen said: “This year's festival once again combines our two favourite things, music and food, and it's going to be bigger and better than ever. We've made sure our visitors get the best in terms of star chefs and music acts, and this will create a brilliant weekend for all the family. I'm also delighted to have Musicians Against Homelessness on board with us once again and to be able to donate much-needed funds to such a worthy cause in Crisis. Through music we are also helping to raise awareness of the plight of homeless people. Sadly there is an increasing number of people across the UK who find themselves living on the street. As we go up and down the country staging these festivals we see this is an issue in all areas, including those considered more affluent and by offering a platform we hope to do our bit to raise awareness and cash.”

Festival-goers will be able to sing and dance into the night with a host of live music acts performing on the Musicians Against Homelessness (MAH) stage, including chart-toppers Scouting for Girls, Boyzlife, Neville Staple Band featuring the legendary frontman of The Specials, and leading Queen tribute act Flash.

Musicians Against Homelessness is an initiative founded by music PR Emma Rule and boasts industry guru Alan McGee who famously discovered Oasis as its Patron. The project provides and sources opportunities for up-coming talent while raising much needed funds for Crisis in the process.

Emma said: “We are so pleased to be working with Foodies again this year and to bring over 400 superb music acts to the MAH live stage. The festival series kicks off in Brighton which has the second largest homeless population in England, with figures expected to rise nationally. Thanks to the support from Foodies and the artists playing our stages we will continue to raise the profile of the subject as well as money to support those living on the streets. It also ensures that people visiting the festival enjoy a fantastic programme of music.”

The festival series begins in Brighton over the Bank Holiday weekend May 5th-7th. More than 25,000 people are expected to enjoy the attractions taking place at Brighton Hove Lawns in a stunning seaside setting.
