Food and Drink

Eating is one of life's great pleasures and as the UK is home to some of the world's most iconic foods, the Yorkshire Pudding, Haggis and Rarebit to name but a few, and of course the multicultural society also means you'll find dishes from all over the world all on your doorstep. 
Many places in the UK pride themselves on using locally sourced produce to create their menus, so if you find yourself in the West Country, you can sample locally made ales and ciders, in Cornwall, you can get real Cornish ice cream and pasties made with locally reared animals. Head to the coast for freshly caught fish and make sure to grab some fish and chips or pie and mash, complete with liquor, if you find yourself in the East End of London. 

If you're gluten free, vegetarian or vegan, you don't need to worry, there is a rising movement for free-from products and many specialist restaurants are popping up all over the country, from Hackney to Bath. 
There are food festivals, farmer's markets and more held regularly all over the country, so take a look and see if you find anything that gets your stomach rumbling.
